This larger print missal makes following along during Mass much easier! I couldn’t wait to take it to mass when I got it. Book itself is good quality (Smyth binding etc) and the setup makes it easy to use (prefaces are all in the middle of the Mass section which makes for less page turning). The seller also included a very nice hand written note and remember this was a my second purchase from them! Very nice people!

The quality on this cover is awesome. It fits my missal perfectly and tightly. I put an image of the Veil of Veronica in the little slot in the front, I also really appreciate the two extra ribbons.

The leather cover for my Angelus Press Missal is lovely workmanship. It is very well made with a good zipper and a good grade of leather. I love that, in addition to customising the back with symbol from the Miraculous Medal, there is pocket on the front for a prayer / Saint card. I have my confirmation Saint, St Thérèse de Lisieux, in it as you can see in the photo. I plan to order another cover for my son, who has the Angelus Press missal, and for my husband’s Father Lasance missal.

I may be the rare customer that purchased a Missal for edification rather than for attending the Latin Mass. I was born in 1961, so while I have vague memories of Mass during the transition from Vatican II, I am curious about how Mass differed from then to now. So, went down the rabbit hole in search of the best Missal for my needs. Thanks to the website, I was able to narrow my choice to the Angleus (with the Baronius close behind)

Initially, I was hesitant to purchase a Missal because of the cost (about the same as a good study Bible). I chose the Angelus 1962 because; 1) wanted a Missal that was closest to how Mass was prior to Vatican II, 2) wanted the most comprehensive resource, and 3) wanted to supplement my current Missal (the Universalis app on iPad). The Angelus checked these boxes. Within its over 1900 pages, there are Mass readings (I enjoy reading Douay-Rheims translation), prayers, rituals, Saint feast days, and so much more (most in both Latin and pre-Vatican II English vernacular e.g. Holy Ghost instead of Holy Spirit)

The Angelus is well-constructed, using Smyth sewn binding (thread, which is more durable than glue or staples), gilt edges (highly recommend that you flip through all the pages as they tend to stick together when first out of the box), and thin (though sturdy) paper. Though the cover is premium, I did shop elsewhere for a Missal cover as I prefer material (canvas in this case) over leather as canvas is easier to clean and hides fingerprints from skin oil so much better

Overall, a great purchase that I expect will become more valuable as the years go on

I love the variety offered by the colors and pre-designed engraving options (which are wonderful choices) and the ease and affordability of customization if you prefer something particular. Be aware that the engraving (now debossed in solid form like shown in my photos, rather than carved as an outline like shown in others’ photos, unless you speak with the shop to request the older type of outline engraving) will be on the back side of the cover and you will still need to find a prayer card to fit the front pocket. Here are the engravings I chose for myself, my dad (for Father’s Day) and my brother (for his birthday).

This item is mostly utilitarian and pragmatic but vaguely luxury. Also, you should undo the metal snap on the spine before putting your missal in and when using the missal. Close the snap again once you’re done for storage. That will allow you to use the missal freely and not put undue pressure on the spine, while protecting the book and its structure. I bought these 3 for the St. Andrew’s Daily Missal and they fit perfectly. Lastly, the cover has an odd smell because I suppose of the leather. While my prayer cards were en route (from a little brick and mortar located in Turin, Italy, which you can find on Etsy under the name “Arte Torre”) I stored my missals tightly in a box enclosed with a lavender odor eliminator pouch. I took them out 2 weeks later to find they smelled remarkably good and very ready to be gifted, so don’t be put off by any scent; they just need to air out and/or be saturated with fragrant aromas. I am adding a photo of my prayer cards from Arte Torre so you can find them there if you’d like for the missal and I hope the company will not mind. Hope this helps someone!

I love Blessed be God! I use it all the time to follow Mass but also as a prayer book. The quality of print and the materials are excellent! And it is probably only 1'' thick so easy and lightweight to carry and hold with one hand.
